Eko Selected for ST Mobile

Eko Communications, an Australian telecommunications software company, has secured a deal from m.Net Corporation Limited to provide SMS application services for Network Ten's ST Mobile premium SMS service, using the Eko SMS Application Server.
Mr Robert Silver, CEO of Eko Communications said this is an excellent win for the company, providing unquestionable testimony for the application server's sophistication and ability to deal with the high demands of a large scale, complex media campaign.
The Eko SMS Application Server has been developed in Australia by Remora Technologies, a Victorian telecommunications software company.
The new service, which is an extension of Ten's Sports Tonight program, provides mobile phone subscribers with full-time results, and news stories as they break for AFL, NRL and Rugby Union using SMS. Users sign up via SMS and all billing is charged direct to their mobile phone account using m.Net Corporation's Premium SMS Gateway.
Mr Silver said the Eko solution is fully automated to manage the entire subscription process, and uses live XML news and score feeds provided by Australian Associated Press, to push text messages to subscribers as soon as full-time results and breaking news is available.
Eko provides a sophisticated engine to seamlessly manage subscriber billing with Telstra, Optus and Vodafone, as well as business logic for outbound message routing based on the subscribers current provider.
Chief Executive of m.Net, Horden Wiltshire said "We are very pleased with the results with this implementation, and the built-in features of the Eko platform have significantly reduced the time-to-market and cost for this deployment. We enjoyed working closely with the Eko team on the development and found them to be very responsive".
